Quebrachos

Last night we went out to eat. Earlier in the day I had asked the clerk for an informal restaraunt that we could walk to. The hotel desk clerk's english was just a bit better then my spanish. She said taxi, but not too far and wrote down Quebrachos. I said ok. We called for a taxi, and he took us on a drive to the old city again. We stopped in a narrow alley in the dark, but could see the name of the restaraunt above the door. There was also a life size stuffed cow at the doorway to greet you. Our waiter sat us down. This was no informal restaraunt, if so, I would hate to see how nice the formal restaraunt's were. This was a nice Argentine restaraunt, with many Argentine symbols, and pictures of Maradona the great Argentine soccer player. The food was exquisent (sp), Ruben had cream of chicken soup, Tracey had a jumbo shrimp pasta, and I had sea bass in a cream sauce with mashed potato's. It was awesome!!! the waiter tried to make it romantic by bringing out his torch lighter and lit all the candles. There were two sets, one red and one yellow. As you can see from the picture, they let the candles burn and drip down the wall. It was pretty neat, I have never seen anything quite like it. After dinner we walked down the dark alley and caught the first cab back to our hotel. There are many police officers throughout the old city, but we didn't want to get caught in a dark alley without one.
